Aiken County to seek help on veto override over Winter Storm Proviso
Aiken County Council plans to ask the State Legislative Delegation to advocate for overriding Gov. McMaster's veto of a Winter Storm Proviso in the FY 2018 19 budget. The proviso would fund a state reimbursement of at least 3.0 million to cover Winter Storm cleanup costs. the county has 3.5 million remaining in storm related expenses after FEMA and state funds. If not overridden, the county must close a substantial budget gap, risking major cuts. Also on the consent agenda is replacing HVAC units at the detention center for 98 500 with Air Tech Services LLC after prior upgrades. The meeting is at 1930 Diversity Parkway.
