Local election ends as Barton retires and other races set
After a hard campaign Barton announces retirement with thanks to door-to-door volunteers who wore out shoes in the effort. Randall expresses relief that the contest is over and wishes Barton luck. In July Scott Singer and Eddie Butler win GOP nominations for District 2 and 5, while District 1 features Democrat Kathy Rawls against Republican Al Brodie in November.
