Monitor turret emerges from ocean depths at Cape Hatteras
Divers and scientists hoisted the 120 ton Civil War era USS Monitor gun turret from the seabed near Cape Hatteras. Cmdr Robbie Schelley called the turret beautiful as a 300 foot barge lifted it, water poured from the wreck, and a Civil War flag fluttered above.

Pedde outlines SRS long term future and cleanup plan
