Local option tax eyed to fund road paving and Bobby Jones project
Aiken County leaders debate a seven year local option tax expected to raise about 7.7 million dollars annually for roads and infrastructure. Supporters say the tax will spur development and the Bobby Jones Expressway, while critics urge careful spend plans and faster paving on dirt roads. Local officials warn that doing nothing could be fatal to the economy.
