Aiken Tennis Faces Court Shortage As Growth Demands More Courts
Aiken tennis players outnumber available nets at four public courts in Virginia Acres Park. Two more courts should be ready by summer at Eustis Park, bringing total to six, but city officials say ten are needed. City Manager Windham cites a $25,000 build cost and possible grants with matching funds. The newly formed Aiken Tennis Association plans to help fundraise and holds a May 9 meeting, while lighting upgrades remain a priority and would require underground wiring.
