Early Baptist Church History Tied by Lost Records
The church records were destroyed five years ago making exact history difficult. It is known the church once sat near the Palmetto Golf Club house, and in 1835 Tristam Tupper asked the South Carolina Canal and Railroad Co. directors for land in Aiken for the church. The request was granted and a deed for the present Richland location followed.
