Neighbors push to turn former Shearman School into park
Marshall Public Schools and the city of Marshall work toward a purchase of the 1.5 acre Shearman School site at Linden and Mansion for a neighborhood park. The city aims to pay about $60,000 with two local grants totaling $60,000, and plans stakeholder meetings while avoiding city funds. Local residents led by Jim Cracraft and Mark Gilbert formed a committee and gathered 117 signatures supporting a low maintenance park with a possible bell memorial.
