Marshall United Way kicks off campaign for 130000 goal
The 2012 13 Marshall United Way campaign starts with a goal of 130000 and runs through November 13. Co chairs Annette Campau Diane Ramirez and Barb Rosene lead volunteers reaching out for donations. Local agencies supported include The Fountain Clinic MACS Marshall and Mar Lee public schools Mobile Meals Oaklawn Hospital charity care and Calhoun County wide groups such as The ABC Big Brothers Big Sisters Boy Scouts of America and Habitat for Humanity among others. A golf outing at The Medalist on September 23 raises funds with four players 320 per foursome 80 per person. Patty Parker notes the Food Bank of South Central Michigan served 102600 people last year through 285 agencies and Mary Jo Byrne reports 5340 patient visits at The Fountain Clinic with preventive services ongoing including cholesterol screenings blood pressure clinics flu shots and a diabetes support group. In kind donations from BluFish Consulting and Standard Printing helped design the brochure and upgrade paper stock.
