Marshall fire damages apartments and businesses downtown
An afternoon blaze around 4:45 p.m. Aug 29 in Marshall damaged eight apartments and four businesses above and near Zarzuela in the 303 E. Michigan Ave block. Firefighters faced access issues due to older construction while evacuations saved residents and workers. Some tenants may return as health and insurance checks proceed and businesses plan a cautious reopening.
