Blue dye trail leads to two charged in metal theft
Marshall police arrested two men after a theft of scrap metal valued at 500 dollars. An officer tracked a blue dye from Industrial Road to a welding shop, a storage bin, and a home on Mitchell Street where four suspects were found. Briggs admitted stealing the metal and said the dye from washing the truck stained them. Arrest warrants sought for two more subjects.

Tractor-Trailer Crash Closes I-69 I-94 Ramps in Marshall
On November 10 at 3 13 am a northbound tractor-trailer driven by Curtis Piercefield 53 of Potterville rolled on the entrance ramp to I 69 from I 94 in Marshall Two. The driver was treated at Oaklawn Hospital and released. Ramps remained closed until about 10 am with sheriff deputies Marshall Two Fire Marshall Ambulance and MDOT assisting.

Two Injured in Head-On Crash Near Athens Township
On November 10 at 6 33 a m deputies responded to a two car personal injury crash on M 66 near Q Drive S in Athens Calhoun County. A northbound Chevrolet Lumina driven by Eric Falkner 45 of Sherwood crossed the center line to avoid a deer and struck a southbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by George Horn III 54 of Richland. Both drivers were transported to Bronson Battle Creek with injuries. Scene was handled by Athens Two Fire LifeCare and Tribal police.

Suspect arrested confesses to five area burglaries
Calhoun County deputies arrested a 30 year old Indiana man on Nov 4 in Pennfield Township after locating him on J Bartlett Street near Capital Avenue NE. He confessed to four burglaries in Pennfield Township and one in Emmett Township. Deputies recovered stolen property and lodged him in Calhoun County Jail.
