Marshall resident earns Distinguished Service Award
Marshall resident A. J. Hale Jr. received the Sandra S. Irion Distinguished Service Award for his long service with the Michigan Safety Conference since 1995. He has held board and officer roles, led as president in 2007, and worked in environmental health and safety since 1998 with Hillsdale Tool, Michigan Seat Company, and Tennaco, now Compone Administrator.

Area Girl Scout troop donates fleece blankets to SAFE Place
Troop 30332 from Wilcox Elementary Holt donated fleece tied blankets to SAFE Place in Battle Creek. Leaders Christina Byers and Scott Coleman spoke on personal safety as the girls embraced the “Girls Helping Girls” theme. A thank you letter from SAFE Place advocate Margo Cummins noted the comfort blankets provide to shelter residents.

Olivet Schools honor excellence in spring awards
