City Council approves two tax abatements for two firms
The Marshall City Council held a 15 minute July 1 meeting with two public hearings for Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption Certificates. J&L Manufacturing at 1507 George Brown Dr. seeks a 450,028 abatement for a warehouse addition and parking lot with nine new jobs. LDA will forego 22,800 in taxes over 12 years and J&L saves about 59,000. Progressive Dynamics at 507 Industrial Rd seeks a 213,500 abatement for equipment upgrade replacing an old machine to boost production.
