Marshall Police report a 33 year old woman was arrested for domestic assault after a Feb 3 incident at 100 block N Fountain St. Both she and her 32 year old boyfriend sustained minor injuries. he declined to press charges. She was lodged at Calhoun County Jail.

Battle Creek police continue to hunt 27 year old Bruce Mireles in connection with a home invasion on Dahlia Drive in which a male victim was stabbed. The suspect fled in a white Dodge Charger later recovered. a 26 year old man was detained on drug charges as the vehicle and cash were forfeited. Mireles remains at large.
Marshall Police responded to a domestic dispute on S Kalamazoo Ave where a 25 year old female victim reported being assaulted by her 24 year old boyfriend. He left scene, victim had minor facial injuries. Suspect arrested next day and lodged at Calhoun County Jail on domestic assault charges.
The Calhoun ISD plan would reallocate the former Albion district to surround districts while keeping Albion as a legal entity to collect an 18 mill non homestead tax and pay debts. Once debts are retired the district ceases to exist and non homestead taxpayers join new district levies. If the tax is not renewed the creditors could seek a judgment levy on all property until debt is paid, and a dissolved district would lack a sinking fund millage.
Marshall officers respond to a domestic disturbance at 200 West Driver after neighbors report arguing. A 18 year old woman denies assault and resists cooperation. Warrants sought for both subjects on disorderly house. next day a second disturbance leads to the 18 year old charged with disturbing the peace.
Marshall officers investigated a January domestic assault claim involving a 28 year old husband. A warrant request for charges was sent to the Calhoun County Prosecutor's Office after statements and observations were reviewed.
