Kuninori Matt Matsuda head of the Consulate General of Japan in Detroit visited Marshall as part of a Michigan tour with Sister Cities in Japan. He praised Michigan’s active Sister City programs and noted many colleges have Japanese studies. He plans to visit cities, universities, and colleges with Japanese connections across Michigan.

Albion First Baptist Church joins Marshall Academy parents to host a benefit for Bob Hays as he battles cancer. The April 21 event runs from 8 to 11 a.m. at Marshall Academy with tickets at five dollars per person or fifteen dollars per family. Proceeds aid the Hays family as Jill Hays works at Oaklawn Hospital.
