Acton Council Approves Park Land Conveyance and Budgets
At Tuesday’s regular meeting Acton council authorized payment of financial statement three for 9 782 62 and passed a bylaw to convey part of Lot 133 for park use adjacent to Fairy Lake near Elmore Drive Lakeview subdivision. The Bank of Nova Scotia variance request was not minor, with a public hearing set for April 1. Council members approved travel to the Ontario Municipal Association conference in Renfrew May 9–10 with expenses paid and resolved to petition the county to continue plumbing inspection through the Health Unit. A land reassessment was narrowly defeated and several staff appointments and road projects were approved including extending Road A in the industrial park and offering five acres to Acton Wood Products at 1 500 per acre.
