Sunshine parents and teachers discuss training for retarded children
On March 3 North Halton Sunshine School parents and teachers gathered for an evening of discussion and study on trainable retarded children. E Lavender spoke for the North Halton County Board of Education while K Armstrong outlined goals for special education. Panelists, including five parents and moderator M Clinton, explored family dynamics discrimination school curriculum and future planning for their children with plans for professional advisory panels and expanded therapy services. The meeting noted the need for full day schooling for capable younger pupils and for improved literature and speech therapy in doctors offices and schools. Serum albumin use from Red Cross blood was also noted for burns and shock treatment.
