YANKs Capture German Soldiers in Close Encounters
In next week’s Yank, Krauss commands surrender in German while two Germans exit with hands up after being surrounded by three Yanks. Sgt Dan T Barfoot of Oklahoma repeats the feat in English. Barfoot spots a machine gun barrel and a German helmet, calls the occupant, and two Germans emerge. Barfoot then leads a 13-man patrol, one added by a dizzy German, back to headquarters.
