In Jacksonville on September 11 J B Starke fatally shot John F Angel in the Southern Express company office while Angel protected his sister. Starke, seeking his wife, was disarmed, then armed again and shot Angel deliberately. The incident followed domestic tension and a refused departure by the wife. Storms hit the British Isles with a 70 mile per hour wind and telegraph disruption.
