A number of young people enjoyed a trip to Chippewa Lake last Saturday and reported a pleasant time. Miss Altice Nafteger attended a surprise party at her brother’s near Golden Corners for Mr Nafteger’s birthday. Nico, G N Barnes and wife left for Mongolia Stark Co to attend the Eastern Ohio Annual Conference of the Liberal division of the U S Church. they plan to return today. I W Stouffer hopes to move to Akron next spring if work is found. The infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Aaron Matz remains living though doctors doubt she will survive. Mr J H Zook returned home with his daughter Stella from Indianapolis last Friday distressed by treatment concerns.
Sept 41 Prof Meyers leads a successful musical convention set to end this week with a grand concert for church funds. Mrs Linda McCay plans a visit to daughter Mia Delong who moved west. Bert Morgan trains for dental school in Cincinnati with Ed Cunningham. Undertaker Grosjean buys prized horse teams for street display. Mrs Clara Caldwell nee Lawrence visits Delta and sister Miessmore of Wooster. Maggie First visits Wayne county friends.
In Creston area two companies own 200 acres of woodlands with 175 under cultivation. They grow onions yielding 13 000 bushels per acre at $1.00 a bushel and cucumbers at 200 bushels per acre. About 100 workers are employed seasonally and visitors are invited to see the onion fields in operation as the B & O Railroad division around Creston advances toward ties.
