Early morning on the C A and C K HK line a passenger train collided with a freight at Apple Creek. The northbound local with an 80-car train blocked a siding. the engine struck the freight wrecking two cars while the crew escaped uninjured.

Marshal Latimer arrested him after a search revealed he wore pants too small for him, stored on under his own. Amster identified the pantaloons as belonging to him. Mark carried two pint liquor bottles.
