Obituary for Wacob Leatherman of West Salem
Wacob Leatherman of West Salem aged 82 died Friday noon. Born in Washington County Pennsylvania he moved to Ohio as a boy and settled in Congrass township in 1842. He worked in farming mercantile trade and banking in West Salem early 1870s. He helped found the village free library and was active Democrat, church member who aided construction of a local Methodist church. Also note deaths of A. J. Berry 76 of Shreve and Lydia Hughes near Shreve aged about 70 with funeral notices.
