Saturday evening's Democratic gathering at the Opera House drew a fair crowd despite rain. W H Weygandt chaired and introduced Hon Raymond Robbins of Chicago, whose able oratory impressed listeners. Robbins steered clear of personal abuse and focused on party issues.
Milton Myers died after an apoplectic attack Saturday evening at his home on South Market Street. He was 67, born in Northampton County, and had lived in Wooster for 54 years. A farmer turned stock buyer and shipper, he was a Lutheran and survived by Mrs. Myers and children Isaac, Harvey, Frank, and Ella Bardon. Interment was at Wooster Cemetery after a 2 pm funeral from his residence.
The Stowell divorce case continued in Common Pleas Court after a Sunday delay as Mrs Stowell’s absence in Cleveland and Mr Stowell’s in Orrville postponed the session. The day featured letters from both spouses, a single defense witness, and a deposition. Cleveland attorney Greenfield testified about Mrs Stowell’s remarks and attempts to reconcile, while the mother’s deposition alleged Stowell’s admission of free love views and mistreatment. The cross examination of Greenfield was rigid, with dates questioned and possible rebuttal anticipated.

Frederick Gerber a well known farmer and stockbuyer of Paint Township died Sunday after a prolonged illness with dropsy. He was 67 and highly esteemed in the community. He is survived by Mrs Gerber two sons and two daughters.
The Wooster Electric Company handed a proposition to the city light committee offering plans to extend service, with 3000 hour and 4000 hour options at 65 and 75 dollars per lamp respectively, plus a ten year contract at 60 dollars per light per year for 95 lights and new luminous arc replacements for downtown and outlying districts. A council canvass shows differing opinions on extending the old contract and adopting all night service.
A Orrville divorce case involves U S postal authorities after Post office Inspector Alonzo P. Owen visited to probe how a letter from a husband reached the wife before reaching its Wooster recipient. A depot mail scene saw a clerk claim the wife seized the letter while she says it was handed to her.
Alonzo DeMuth of Cleveland has purchased the old Sligh grist mill at Honey town built in 1826 and still operating until recent years. He has contracted a rais down of the building with work starting Thursday of this week.
Jacob W. Harmon age 56 died after days of suffering at his home near Overton. Funeral at Bethel Church Overton at 10 a.m. Thursday with interment in Overton. Born near Hayesville, Ashland county, he lived on a Chester township farm before moving to the Overton home last spring. Survived by wife and children Mervin m. Premor of Chester township, Mrs. William Barnhart of Canaan township, Ethel and Glenn Harmon at home. A son Berton died violently a year ago. Neighbors remember him for his esteem and good will. family receives sympathy in their bereavement.
In Medina county, Guy Rasor, jailed in the Ora Lea murder case near Wadsworth, proclaims innocence. A county inquiry, led by Sheriff Hutchinson and Prosecutor McClure, probes motives amid a town mourning a factory girl killed on the road.
Fire swept the residence of Edward Garver in Sanaieec on Monday. Mrs Garver, formerly Bertha Fletcher of Wooster, was found unconscious in the blaze.
Mrs. G W Hoard of Hempstead Texas writes about her son Carl who has suffered ear problems since infancy. She describes repeated illness and prior treatment by a local physician for about six weeks and questions objections to liquid medicines.
