The 18th annual meeting of the Progressive Farmers met November 19 north of Souter at Mr and Mrs D S Tintsman home. The event featured Miss Rose Wilson on Fruit Culture and a menu including strawberries and chicken. Mrs W A Bruce read on The Farmer as a Gentleman and Mrs Tara Lytle spoke on The Public School Problem. Rev W M Geers prompted calls for better teacher preparation and normal schools. Mrs Fulton Glass spoke on timely subjects and Mrs Lytle asked to be excused as corresponding secretary. The gathering planned a January 20 21 farmers institute in Wooster with DS Tintsmann as president and notable speakers.

The funeral for Mrs. Caroline Palmer Crabb Ryall Crabbs will be private at 2 p.m. from Dr. W. Ryall’s North Market Street residence, Wooster. She died last Friday in DeLand Florida and lies in Woodlawn Cemetery. Born February 5 1836 near Pavonia, she married Robert Wallace Ryall in 1858, had one son George, and after his death remarried Dr. Jacob Crabbs of Olivenburg. She left four children, and was noted as a principled, devoted mother and long time church worker who endured hardships with dignity. She spent winters in Florida about 20 years ago and passed away on Friday September, after a long illness.
