Died After Many Years Mary Brinkerhoof Dies in Bloomington

Mrs Mary Brinkerhoof widow of Hon John Brinkerhoof a longtime Wayne county educator died at 10 30 Saturday night in Bloomington from paralysis She neared 89 and funeral at 1 30 Wednesday from her residence with Wooster Cemetery interment She was born November 25 1819 in Westmoreland Pa moved to Ohio as a child and lived in Wayne County over 80 years Survived by two stepsons George Brinkerhoof Warrensburg Mo and Dr Joseph W Brinkerhoof Burbank O She was a longtime United Presbyterian member and devoted worker in her church Dr Brinkerhoof and wife stayed at her bedside throughout her illness

Closing of Saloons Triggers Quiet Saturday Night

Reports from Dalton Doylestown and Orrville say villages were crowded Saturday night as saloons closed but there was little disorder. In Orrville two Wooster youths who overindulged in liquor were arrested and given a good lecture by Mayor Griffith.

Oldest Dentist Dr John T Wisner Dies At 74

Dr John T Wisner, county s oldest dentist, died at 1 30 a m Sunday at his nephew Prof Edward E Adair s home in Doylestown from paralysis. He was 74 and a lifelong Wooster resident born at Apple Creek. Funeral at 2 p m Monday from his nephew s home, Rev O F Winser officiating, interment in Wooster cemetery. He taught early in life, later practiced dentistry, and was active in First Presbyterian Church and city politics. Mrs Wisner died four years ago. The Taft Resub-Nean club met to form a permanent organization with monthly winter meetings and a Lincoln banquet planned for February 12. a meeting is set in two weeks for program planning. The gathering ratified Taft for President and featured stirring addresses. H D Davis could not attend from Columbus due to elections. Landes and the county Taft committee planned a stronger program for the next meeting.

Turkeys stolen near Lemmon home foiled by night patrol

Samuel Lemmon reports turkeys burglarized at his Wooster area home at 2 a m Tuesday. Roy Davis and Oliver Pennick, Wooster residents, accused after officers alerted by Lemmon and restraining them at the feed barn on North Buckeye street. Mayor Van Neat released the suspects on recognizance for Wednesday night trial. Lemmon family members heard turkeys clucking and fled to trees during the attempt. Pennick’s guilt unclear. both men had no prior theft charges.

Bills Allowed By County Commissioners

A Orrville man was arrested Monday on charges of selling liquor to minors. The accused, a former saloon keeper, allegedly sold alcohol to underage individuals in this city. Authorities filed charges and intend to pursue the case.
