Promoter Arrested for Colossal Frauds in London Deal
J Whitaker Wright, former managing director of a London finance concern capitalized at 60 million dollars, arrived from Havre aboard the La Lorraine and was arrested in New York on charges of colossal fraud and fleeing justice. He waived extradition and said he would return to England. A companion, registered as Miss F Browne Wright, accompanied him, occupying a deck suite on the steamship. Wright previously lived in princely luxury in Park Lane and Godalming, with a private yacht and lavish stables, and his London and Globe Finance Corporation failures sparked calls for prosecution.

Mayor Vandervort Suspended Over Track Laying Permit
