Mr. King escaped with minor bruises. 21 quarts of blackberries were ruined in the buggy. bystanders praised the cyclist's attempts to stop the crash.
Mr A Sanders of Cocoa nut Grove Florida reports a severe diarrhoea attack cured by four doses of Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. He also recommended it to two others who call it the best medicine they have used. Sold by Lat Bach & Boop on the square.

Obituary notes Lt Silas G Johnson born Wayne County Ohio September 13 1836 died Auburn Indiana July 8 1899 aged 62 years 9 months 25 days. A teacher turned Private in 104th Ohio Volunteer Infantry he rose to First Lieutenant and held detachments in key duties including court-martial advocate and commissary posts. He married Catherine Shull in 1858 and Mary B. Rummel in 1844, leaving two children and several siblings. He resided in Waterloo practicing dentistry after the war and was active in Presbyterian circles. His funeral and interment were in Auburn with honors. Also noted are the deaths of Mrs Martha Stair and Lieut W Downing reflecting community losses and local obituaries.

Ash land & Wooster railroad engineer Mike Cassidy faced a perilous dusk run toward Jeromeville when a man stood on the track. The episode left Cassidy pale and shaken, while the jokers laughed from the roadside.
