Mrs Chas Damon formerly of Wooster died at her Orrville home from heart disease shortly after a baby boy was born Friday. 88 years old, she leaves a husband and two young children aged 2 and 4. Remains were interred at Chatham Medina County. The husband seeks a competent person to care for the infant.
Governor Harris announced Randolph Walton formerly of Wooster will serve as commission clerk starting August 1, replacing Wm. Y. Goshorn of Galion. Walton was a secretaryship candidate. Samuel J. Fockinger of Dayton won that post. The lieutenant governor clerk position was previously created but dropped after a week.
S. B. Dawson, noted photographer and pure water advocate, was preparing water photos when a large number of his shots were spoiled by a foreign substance contaminating the water. Dawson remains active in promoting clean water despite the setback.
Prosecuting Attorney Calrin Chief Leiner and deputy fire marshal Charles N Chew questioned residents over the Bert Billheimer barn fire in Warne township. Fire Marshal Chew found probable cause and secured a warrant in mayor's court for Kneuffer, who was taken into custody Tuesday night.
An electrical storm near Overton destroyed John Howman’s barn and damaged outbuildings, saved only by neighborly efforts. Insurance on contents was 50 dollars, valued at 25 in loss. Eldon Mowrer and Ida Ritch wed in Hot Springs and will live in New Philadelphia where he works as an electrical engineer. Mrs. D B Langdow remains injured, while Mr. Rowman thanks neighbors for saving his home. Mrs. Lupetta Wasson visited Doylestown. John Wasson has the top wheat yield in Wayne county.

Mrs Distelrath’s barn north of town, George Dctorpline’s barn, and John Baker’s barn were destroyed or heavily damaged, with hay and implements lost. A Jacob Stein barn near Glynnwood was damaged, and oil burned at Terwilliger farm. Losses run to several thousand dollars with livestock saved in most cases.
