Massillon Fire Destroys Frantz Livery and Barns
A blaze at Wm Frantz’s livery in Massillon destroyed the barn area early Monday, fatally burning Lawrence Lyne who died at Mt. Airy hospital. Forty five horses perished, with total losses around 75000 dollars as 80 animals were housed in the basement and most escaped before flames cut off exits. A banker offered 1000 dollars for the horse’s rescue, but all efforts failed and 44 other horses perished in the blaze.

Chief Levner said W. E. Barrey and Arthur Brokeshire, both listed as from Wooster, were in custody in Fort Wayne Ind. charged with loitering during a weeklong visit seeking work. The police noted their reputations for honesty were not in doubt and expected their release after Tuesday morning hearing.
Wooster Township Board Sees Clerk Resign
