A. J. Fredrick & Co. declares final reductions on cloth and silk garments and wash-goods of all kinds. The store emphasizes clearing stock with sacrifice, regardless of original cost, urging customers to act now.
C L Jackson of Philadelphia and David Collier of Lakeville met citizens at the mayor’s office to discuss the Mansfield Wooster interurban line. Bonds sold amount to 700000. 100000 of preferred stock to be issued as a substitute for 400000 cut. Schwartz named chair of five member committee to arrange Wooster subscriptions with September 1 as a target start. Road expected to cost about 1 million dollars and stretch 40.6 miles from Mansfield to Wooster with construction by G White Co and potential operation by them.
George Shreve of Clinton township has been returned to confinement at the Wayne county infirmary after multiple escapes. He refuses to eat while in confinement and has not promised to desist from further attempts to escape if released. Authorities face a difficult decision on how to proceed.

A hyena named Or peace of age was put to passing Monday morning at Robinson’s Ten Big Shows. Prof Knight, with students of Wooster University present, used chloroform under supervision to induce sleep and then euthanize the animal in its den. The procedure, described by observers, involved ten ounces of chloroform administered via a muzzled device.

Sunday afternoon on Larwill street L T Swarts and S D Swarts were riding west when the horse suddenly shied and bolted. L T Swarts fell and bruised his shoulder with painful injuries but no broken bones. S D Swarts also bruised but able to be about the next day.
Sunday schools from Lew Pitosarg Runabarg Red Haw and Pleasant Hume plan a picnic in Amos Grose's grove near Lattasburg on Saturday August 5.
