The Kords National Bank will reopen under a federal plan with 55 percent paid immediately as dividends. The remaining 45 percent will be paid later. New stock will be issued and the bank may require additional stock or assessments to fund operations.
The federal government endorses the bank plan for reopening Fords National Bank. Old stockholders must surrender shares. new stock to be sold at 26 per share to raise 26000 cash and a 40000 surplus. Depositors waive 45 percent to withdraw 55 percent later. no preferred stock or assessments. A new board will be named and must be government-approved.
Nick Schwartz aged 26 of Plainfield narrowly escaped a fatal crossing accident at Iselin when his car stalled on the tracks at 2 05 am. He jumped out as an express train led by Conductor J Kelly bore down, smashing the vehicle but sparing his life.
The Woman's Club of Wapayrie announces a two week beetle elimination campaign starting August 14. Prizes of 2 and 1 dollars will go to youths who collect the most beetles. State Theatre manager A J Sabo offers a free movie ticket to the first 100 children delivering a pint of beetles to Main Street.
Barbers of Woodbridge Township form the Master Barbers Association to standardize prices per NRA and state laws. Officers are President Peter Greiner, Vice-President Frank Mortecalvo, Treasurer and Secretary M P Schubert. The group will meet on Wednesday evenings.

Police hunt two armed men who robbed Reynold Chuan in Menlo Park and Henry Behr at a Bonham town service station. The Plymouth coupe was stolen and then found on Upper Main Street at five this morning. Chuan reported the hold up occurred near Menlo Park Tile Works around 11 p m. The pair, aged 5 to 27, wore dark caps and suits and may live in Woodbridge or Raritan Township. Police expect an arrest soon.
Dr Harry Glass of Carteret reports a full medical exam for camp children. He notes many are undernourished, with some 26 pounds underweight. Camp program and good food aid health and happiness as girls aged 6 to 12 gain an average 2.02 pounds in first week. Incorporation papers filed by Schewenzer Brothers of Woodbridge for new venture.
M Doner of Perth Amboy reported to Sergeant John Egan that unknown persons broke into his boat Julia at Sewaren Motor Boat Club last night. They stole two flaking poles a life preserver and smashed his instrument board on the craft.
Sewaren children are urged to stay away from the local dump after reports of youths climbing the mound for stale ice cream from a local vendor. The Hoard MW Health meeting directed staff to bar access and to inspect nearby septic tanks and records noting 28 births 12 deaths 13 marriages in July while appointing Dr L W Gaydosh to examine cows without pay.
Walter Lunowgirl twelve of 867 State Street Perth Amboy narrowly escaped death when a truck door handle broke off and pierced his neck after a bicycle mishap on West Avenue. He was treated at Perth Amboy General Hospital by Dr Slobodien.
Peter Michalski reports to Sergeant John Buan that radiators pipes and other fixtures are being stolen from the Pine Tree Inn building. Police are investigating.

Marton Vogel of Woodbridge was bruised and shocked after being struck by a car driven by Mila Millon at the intersection of Main and William streets. The collision occurred Tuesday evening as Vogel crossed Main Street near Baldwin Street in Jersey City. Dr. Joseph Mark treated the injured woman and Patrolman George Leonard investigated the accident.
Minnie Denman 16 of Remsen Avenue Avenel was lightly injured Wednesday night after being struck by a car driven by George Ruff of Thorpe Avenue Avenel. She and her sister Marie were walking along Remsen Avenue. Dr. Kemeny of Carteret treated Minnie for hip and elbow injuries.
Woolbridge Township plans to appeal the Beth Israel Cemetery Association lands exemption ruling to the State Board of Taxes and Assessments. Township Attorney Henry St Clair Lavin prepared the appeal for submission via the Township Committee, aiming for a decision before November.
Theodora Rutkowsky 24 of 109 Prospect Bayonne and two companions were arrested on grand larceny charges from Ostrander Fir e Brick Company. Rutkowsky held on 1600 bail. others on 500 bail. He allegedly took Ivan rails. others arrested on the same complaint.

Walter Warr urged public meetings on NRA involvement. George Merili reported 7,700 playground users last week. Seven local Rotarians attended the South River gathering. Visitor Earl Burr of 62 South Amboy joined yesterday’s session.
Our Lady of Peace church grounds at Forde hosts a parish picnic and dance next Sunday featuring supper and all day activities. A popular orchestra provides the music for dancing as preparations are completed.
