Township committee unanimously lowers delinquent taxes interest from 7 to 5 percent until September 30 1933 to aid payment and fund the school system. The measure was approved at a recent meeting with plans to publish the tax sale soon and calls for further actions on handbill licensing and merchant collaboration.
Joe Hussar and Steve Durinda, both juveniles from Woodbridge, were sentenced to the county workhouse on a malicious mischief charge. An officer tracked them after seeing suspicious activity in several streets and a porch theft of eight newspapers.

The attorney may accept Orante Company's offer to pay this year’s taxes on a building in Avenel and to repay back taxes in four installments. The attorney may also assign Boynton Lumber Co taxes to Firt National Bank of Woodbridge, about 17000, with funds to aid dividend declarations.

A meeting to organize a county branch of the New Jersey State Retailers Association will be held Monday night August 21 at Pulaski Hall on Kim Street Perth Amboy. The gathering aims to explain requirements of the National Industrial Recovery Act and the proposed basic code of fair competition.

L. C. Marr of the Pennsylvania Railroad spoke to the Rotary Club at the Middlesex Hotel about developing the St. Lawrence waterway and related power plants. He estimated total costs around 650 million dollars plus 61 million for Great Lakes work and canal improvements, noting Canadian reluctance due to finances and rail capacity. The club plans a members only fishing trip on Monday August 28.

A woman identified as Hart of Oak street was injured Tuesday night when the car she rode in, driven by Abraham J. Tertletanb of 318 Watson Avenue Perth Amboy, collided with Vaughn Moore’s car from East Orange at the Cleveland Avenue and Amboy Avenue intersection. Moore, who was northbound on Cleveland Avenue, reportedly failed to yield.
A car driven by a man crashed into a truck at the Second Street and Amboy Avenue corner Monday afternoon. The New York bound truck was hurled by the impact. the driver and four passengers were showered with glass but escaped unhurt.
