Woodbridge Township merchants and factories join a nationwide NRA push to boost employment and wage standards under Roosevelt codes. Local leaders urge immediate reemployment, praising the blanket and industrial codes while businesses displaying the blue eagle pledge may flaunt the NRA emblem.
In August a Renovize Week from the 7th to 19th, led by John R. Breckenridge, seeks to stimulate business activity and employment. The committee lists home improvement tasks such as building shelves and drains, painting, planting, and repairs, urging community participation under a county wide effort.

Louis Bellanca, a cobbler seated in front of his shop on Main Street, was struck by a rim when a tire blew out on a car driven by 20 year old Robert Smialkowski of Newark. Bellanca suffered a leg laceration and possible fracture and was taken to Perth Amboy General Hospital for treatment.
Louis Wallick 41 of Coatesville Pa. drove through a red light on Lincoln Highway at Oak Tree road Iselin crashing into Edward Brown 17 of Iselin. Wallick and passengers were treated at Perth Amboy General. Brown and his mother Grace Brown 38 were taken to Rahway Memorial with burns and possible fractures. Wallick held on red light and no registration.
The St. James Parent-Teachers Association will host a summer picnic all day Saturday August 19 at Varady's Grove. Special buses depart from the Knights of Columbus on Main Street at 7:30 A M. Dancing and games are listed as features.
The Woodbridge Leader declares wholehearted support for the NRA program in a telegram to President Franklin D Roosevelt. Publisher 1. F. Campion signs the note as endorsing the National Industrial Recovery movement.
St Cecilia's R C Church in Ise lin will host a novel entertainment on August 12 with card games in the Parish Hall. High scores win lace prizes and a door prize. platform dancing and an entertainer are planned. Refreshments will be served as parishioners support the pastor in hospital care.

Peter Tobak 23 of Amboy avenue Woodbridge died from injuries after a pokery truck collided with a sedan in Lyndhurst Saturday night. Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Woodbridge with a solemn requiem mass. Burial was at St. James cemetery. Tobak survived by his parents five brothers and two sisters. The sedan driver also died that night. Tobak had recently worked for a bakery and was well known among local youths.
Firefighters postpone a benefit event planned by the Woodbridge Fire Company No. 1 due to heavy rains. A crowd gathered for dancing before the storm interrupted plans, and Chief Dantes Catano hopes supporters attend tomorrow night to raise funds for the firemen’s benevolent work.
Albert Brooks aged 38 of Ridgely Iselin died from a broken neck after diving from a dock into Smiths Creek. He crashed at Perth Amboy General Hospital after the accident Sunday, and services were held at his late home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery Morris Town. Survived by wife Christine two sons George and Stewart a daughter Florence six brothers and two sisters.
Members of Middlesex Council and Knights of Columbus depart this evening for a weekend retreat in West End at San Alfando. The Redemptorist team will conduct the sessions.
Woodbridge Township police switch from blue and khaki wool uniforms to a regulation light blue broadcloth shirt for the remainder of the summer. Officers have already placed orders. the move follows new guidelines approved by police leadership.
