Winthrop Delegates Nominate Two Republican Candidates
Winthrop and Revere delegates met at Revere town hall last Thursday to nominate Hugh M. McKay of Revere and Alfred Tewksbury of Winthrop as Republican candidates for representative. Joseph Davison chaired the convention with 50 delegates entitled and 47 present. The banquet room followed with speeches led by Mayor Charles E. Hatfield of Newton, urging a strong Republican vote in the upcoming election.

Charles Franklin Brown dies at 38 in Winthrop
Charles Franklin Brown aged 38 died at his Loring Road home after a lingering illness. Born in Woodstock Connecticut he lived in Underhill Vermont and later Winthrop where he built a home. He married Susan Monson in 1898 and was active in the Cottage Park Yacht Club Court Park Improvement Association and Southern Shoe Salesmen's Club. Funeral services were held at 73 Loring Road with ministers James F. Allen and J. W. Heath officiating.

More than 50 attended the third in a series of whist parties held under Winthrop athletics at War Veteran's hall Tuesday evening. Play lasted from 8:30 to 10:30 with refreshments served. Committee in charge included Myron Tewksbury Chester Grant William Barker and Charles Hagmap.
