Funeral of Mr George Shattuck Everbeck at East Boston home
Mr George Shattuck Everbeck died at his home 64 Cliff Avenue early Monday. Funeral services were held at his residence Wednesday with Rev George F Stanton officiating. interment at Winthrop cemetery. Born 1835 in Boston he lived in East Boston since age eighteen. Survived by widow two sons and two grandsons. Pallbearers included Wm Jackson and others from the Boston post office and Tri Mountain Colony. He was a charter member of several Masonic and fraternal orders and a 49 year Boston post office employee. Death caused by heart failure after two years of declining health.

Fifteen Footers Arrive to Greet Winthrop Club
Three of Chaisson designed fifteen footers built for the Winthrop Yacht Club were towed into port by George H. Griggs aboard the Sarachen last Saturday. The reception featured club cannon salutes, flag dipping, and cheers as the vessels reached the clubhouse floats.

Centralia justice fines man for alleged chicken theft
A Cen tralia justice of the peace tried a colored man for stealing a chicken. The witness refused to swear, so the judge released a fowl and watched it roost, leading to a $50 fine for the accused.

Winthrop Woman's Club Elects New Officers at Annual Meeting
The Winthrop Woman's Club met at St. John's Parish House on May 2 for its annual meeting and officer elections. Mrs. Mary P. Callard was elected president, with Emma Sylvester as vice president and Maud R. Wyman as treasurer among others. The retiring president Mrs. Edith Allen Johnson received a gold mesh bag and roses. Refreshments followed provided by the hospitality committee.

Burns and scalds should be treated with glycerine and flour, the latter well heaped over the affected part. Then tie round a linen bandage to exclude the air. If cotton wool is handy it is better to use for this purpose than linen.
