Rose Festival at Epworth League Draws Wide Support
The Epworth League of First Methodist held a rose festival in Social hall Wednesday evening. Four groups red pink yellow white decorated rose booths. Red booth won profit nearly 25 dollars for the treasury. An original song and various performances entertained attendees. Grace Clark received a surprise bouquet from John A. Knudson.

Dr Arthur Vannevar Pierce formerly of Winthrop and Louise Haywood Howard were married Thursday afternoon last week in New Bedford at Dr Charles R Hunt's home. The ceremony was by Rev William B Geoghegan of the Unitarian church. The wedding was quiet with only immediate family present. They left for a wedding trip and will reside at 99 Elm Street New Bedford after October 1. Dr Pierce is son of Arthur J Pierce and wife of 203 Shore Drive and a Boston University graduate who began practicing medicine in New Bedford in 1908.
