Letters From World War I Front Bring Church Faith Home

A rector reports two letters from Winthrop boys overseas praising St. John’s Church for faith and guidance. One letter from the trenches asks how the church can be more real in a soldier’s life and suggests a Men’s Club or Bible class to strengthen fellowship. The other notes spiritual growth, camp prayers, and expectations of action around May 45 as aircraft and guns roar in the distance.
