Memorial Day Observed by Veterans with Parade and Banquet

A banquet followed by the Civil War Veterans for the Spanish War Veterans and auxiliary groups. A band concert opened the day, a parade to the cemetery, and an oration by Hon. John E. Beck. Plans For Celebration Progressing Rapidly In Winthrop
The Fourth of July Association met with seating taxed at the public library hall as committees report progress. Parade leadership by Eugene Cronin forms, with two bands, militia detachment, naval brigade, soldiers from Fort Banks, and numerous floats promised to draw a large crowd. Fundraising letters target equal giving to personal celebration costs. Receipts issued for all contributions.

Beulah Lodge Rebekahs Host Supper and Entertainments
The Rebekahs held a social supper in Wadsworth Hall with a fine minstrel show by Beulah Lodge of Lynn. Mrs Ella J Swint led the supper committee and proceeds support the home lodge contingent fund with typewritten programs prepared by Miss Hattie Remby and entertainment committee members Emma Childress Annie Baxter Helen Bangs Lydia Collins.
