Memorial Day Exercises by Civil Spanish War Veterans
Memorial day ceremonies begin at 8 a.m. with a band concert in Ingleside Park by the Naval Brigade band. The parade moves along Pauline, Pleasant, Washington, Shirley, Beach, Crest, Grovers, Cliff, Highland, Rever, Main, Hermon, Winthrop, Buchanan to the cemetery for grave decorating assisted by young ladies. The program at the cemetery includes dirge, addresses, decorating graves, and a final benediction by Chaplain.

A Monday Cliff House concert organized by Miss Nettie Stanley drew a full crowd for charity. Performers included Miss Stanley soprano, Mrs Bessie Bible violin, Mr Silverberg cello, and the Winthrop Octet with multiple solos and encores amid a warm reception.

The Winthrop Spanish War Veterans will form at 8:30 a.m. on Memorial Day on Pauline Street opposite the G A R hall for a ceremony featuring a silk American flag presentation by the ladies' auxiliary led by Mrs. George M. Hayward. Edward P. Weston, the first casualty among local members, died May 18 at Fort Caswell and was buried in New York May 22 after serving in Battery B, 7th Artillery U.S.A.S.

Fourth of July Parade Committee Meets at Library
The Fourth of July Association parade committee met in the public library hall Tuesday evening with many attendees. Chairman Eugene Cronin led the session as plans emerged for floats from the Elks Timbuctoo Tribe Winthrop Athletics and Winthrop Woman's Club.
