M. M. 8. Society Raises Funds for Floating Hospital
Eight girls aged 12 to 15 formed the M. M. 8. Society and, aided by the Visall sisters, hosted a June 26 veranda fair at 48 Hutchinson Street. They sold crafts and candy, raising 63 for the Floating Hospital to aid sick babies aboard the life-saving hospital boat. Officers include Grace Sullivan president Etta Visall secretary Alice Knight treasurer. members from Winthrop Highlands.

Winthrop Lodge No. 107 BPOE was instituted at Wadsworth Hall with 52 charter members. Officers installed included R E R Dr. Albert B. Dorman E L K John W. Lill secretary Frank N. Jenkins treasurer and trustees. An Elks banquet for 400 guests from 50 lodges followed the ceremony.

Woman Charged With Hotel Fraud in East Boston Case
Mrs Jennie Balch registered as Mrs A G Kittredge at Youngs Hotel in Winthrop. She allegedly consumed food and entertainment for a week before fleeing. Detected by Chief Buffington, Balch hid in a vacant room and was later arraigned in East Boston district court on fraud charges with $300 bail.

Death of Boston Restaurateur Ernest Mieusset
Ernest Mieusset a renowned Boston restaurateur died Wednesday afternoon at his Winthrop Highlands summer residence from cirrhosis after a prolonged illness. Born in France on April 15 1844 he spent most of his life in Boston where his Paris style eatery drew wealth and fashion. Survived by his wife and two children Claude 13 and Yvonne 12 the family noted.
