Lions Club Ladies Night Enjoyable Local Event
After August, the Winters Lions Club held semi monthly meetings with a banquet at First Methodist church. Seventy five plates were served. Guests included Dr. Maddox and Tom Carswell of Abilene who spoke on Patriotism and Lionism. The group discussed a public library for Winters and the football prospect for the coming season. The Lions covered a $100 training camp grocery bill for the team.

A J Roe Sr died suddenly at his son A J Roe Jr home last Saturday morning. He was 78 and had lived in Winters for three years after moving from Yantis Texas. Funeral services were held Sunday at First Baptist Church with Rev J N Key officiating and interment in Winters Cemetery. Survived by wife five children and several stepchildren.
