City Hotel in Winters Served Cheap Dinners 1908 1919
The City Hotel in Winters offered meals at 25 cents and rooms at 50 cents from 1908 to 1919. Built in 1906 by Rev. W J Dunn, later owned by the Huffhines, the hotel fed crowds with fried chicken three times daily and a rotating menu while townsmen worked in cotton and mail trains arrived with drummers and trunks.
