Local Merchants Reject Trucked Groceries From Abilene
Last Tuesday about 2 PM a truck load of groceries from an Abilene wholesale house arrived in Winters. Two merchants with goods in the consignment accepted the freight but insisted shipments come by railroad in the future. A third merchant refused entirely and sent the driver back, demanding railroad delivery. Winters residents say they will honor freight agreements if treated fairly.

Abilene and Southern cancels plan to seek a State Railroad Commission hearing to discontinue the motor car. Chamber of Commerce committee members H. O. Jones Bert E. Low and Mayor A. F. Roberts approved the decision after a conference. The motor schedule changes take effect next Sunday with the Winters arrival at 8 06 a m and Ballinger return at 6 36 a m. Lions Hold Interest ing Meeting Tuesday

Son Burns to Death as Ballinger Home Fire Hits Family
