Presbyterian Revival Starts Next Sunday

Prominent Wingate Citizen Dies Monday
Mr. J. A. King died at Wingate on Monday June 1 at 4 p m and was buried Tuesday in the Wingate cemetery at 11 a m Services were held at the Methodist church led by Rev W L Wall Born in Mississippi he moved to Texas as a child and spent most of his life in Runnels county He was a longtime Methodist and left a wife several small children and a brother in the Wingate area An old pioneer well liked by the community

First National To Distribute Memorial Coins
Stone Mountain Memorial Association will issue half dollar coins featuring the memorial. The coins sell for one dollar with 60 cents aiding the memorial fund. First National Bank will distribute the coins in the region and certificates may be purchased now.

Marshal Lodges Two Negroes In Jail
Marshal Kirby arrested two negro men for a rough house in their homes one man beat his wife and choked her. The pair escaped by breaking window bars during the night. The marshal warned unemployed negro men to find work or be jailed. Rev. W F Wall visited Winters, Texas.

Mrs. C. D. Bryant Dies After Prolonged Illness
Mrs. C. D. Bryant died at the family home on Monday June 1 after months bedridden with Brights disease. A Church of Christ member for 25 years, she is survived by her husband and nine children. Funeral services were led by Rev. A. H. Clark with interment in New Cemetery. Out of town relatives attending included Mrs. M. M. Bryant, Mrs. G. H. Bryant, Mrs. W. P. Lanham of Merkel, Mrs. J. M. Colbert of Salina and Mrs. C. G. Henderson of Dallas.
