The annual community meeting included a chili and stew supper hosted by Mrs. Marvin Hale Mrs. Lemma Fuller and Mrs. Robert Hill. A business session ended with 84 games. Local residents visited friends and family from Benoit Ballinger Abilene Winters San Angelo Drasco Fort Worth and Dallas with several weekends spent in Abilene Big Spring and Garland.

Detour Deer Ends Up in Driver's Car After Crash
Eisenhower State Park superintendent Bob Magouirk escaped serious injury when his car struck a seven point buck on U S Highway 75. The deer crashed through the windshield and died as Magouirk brought the vehicle to a stop. He received minor cuts and was treated and released from a local hospital.

Pheasant harvest in Texas Panhandle falls short of last year
San Angelo report shows a nine day Texas Panhandle pheasant harvest of about 7 000 birds versus 12 000 last year. Biologists cite lower bird populations and adverse weather before and during the season including rain and snow, plus muddy fields hindering access. Only 35 percent of hunters bagged birds, down from 57 percent a year ago.
