Christmas Program at Methodist Episcopal Church South

The M B Church South Sunday School presents a Christmas program tomorrow at 7 30 pm featuring choral pieces solos duets quartets tableau and cantata with admission 15 cents for adults 10 cents for children. The Ep1scopal church will celebrate the Nativity with a musical program and Holy Communion following offertory prayers and readings led by Rev Nelson P Dame with Mrs H D Fuller at organ and Miss Carrie Hunter directing the choir.

Sacred Heart Church Christmas Mass Celebrated by Pastor

At Sacred Heart Church on Christmas morning at 6 o'clock High Mass will be celebrated by the pastor Rev. W A McKeefry who will also deliver a sermon on the Gospel of the day. The choir has arranged Kyrie and Gloria Credo etc with Adeste Novello Sanctus Salutaris Agnus Dei and a Christmas Anthem. Mrs Maggie Bryant is organist and Mrs M M Lynch is choir director.

Christmas Day Services at Grace Church

Grace Lutheran will observe Christmas Day with special services at 11 oclock in the morning. Pastor Rev. W. L. Seabrook will deliver an appropriate sermon and readings. Special hymns anthems and other music will be rendered. Misa Kate Wolfe will preside at the organ.

Potts Lectures on China at Christ Church

Rev J F H Potts spoke on Chinese emblems customs and the corrupt government drawing a cold night audience. He praised Miss Lily Ward and outlined fundraising to enlarge St Johns College Shanghai to admit more students. Potts plans a three month stay in the U S then returns to New York for holidays with relatives.

The night storm blew wind strong enough to threaten Mr. W. T. Nott's tin roof on North Main Street. Workers repaired the roof this morning by tacking the tin securely again.

A brief sharp snow squall swept the city around 8:50 pm for about ten to fifteen minutes. Hawkins wind from the Gap carried the tiny particles, making visibility difficult.
