A girl on the Cumberland Valley 2 15 passenger train said goodbye on the rear platform. While she was away a second girl stole a purse from a car seat and escaped. The rightful owner pursued in motion and recovered the purse but missed the train.

Stolen hams recovered after Clarke county theft
After a lengthy search involving Clarke county and Winchester officers and citizens, two hams stolen from Charles H. Boxwell in Berryville Virginia were found in Winchester. Henry Blair faces Berryville jail on an accessory charge while John Wilson, the principal actor, remains at large. Fisher, a local merchant, had purchased the meat. Blair’s preliminary Berryville hearing is set for tomorrow. Fisher will identify him.
