Suddit hakes Serious Charges Against asylum
Rev James Augustus Suddit hailing from Gore Frederick county Virginia declares at a Virginia Anti Saloon League convention that he was unjustly confined in Braunton asylum by forged affidavits and commitments. He says no examination occurred and contends the papers were forged while he fought the whisky traffic. Doctors defend the commitment noting he is a monomaniac and dangerous at times. He was formerly a saloon keeper turned temperance advocate and claims a conspiracy against him.

In Siemens Crry Virginia the magistrates court released Charles White after his mother paid 12.80 for two forged orders made out to Miss Ann F Stickley. White had given the orders to Clayton Jones in payment for his mother.

Death of Daniel C. Willis after long illness
Daniel C. Willis died last night at 6 at his home 135 North Main Street after years of paralysis like pain. He was born October 19, 1852 in the city and worked as a jeweler earlier in Harrisonburg and Charlottesville. He leaves his widow Ida Points Willis and three children Sarah Fred and Catherine and his mother Mrs Lavina Willis. The funeral is set for tomorrow at 3 PM from his home with Rev. WH Joyce and Rev. Dr John Hyde officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Mrs. Clara A. Locke wife of W. G. Locke died about 1 30 this morning at their Canterbury area home after a long illness caused by consumption. She was 38 and funeral services will be held Monday at 11 in Stephens City with Rev. H. A. Brown officiating. Survived by widowed mother Mary Robinson and husband four children Earl Benjamin Ernest and Rhymer Locke sister Mary Robinson and brothers James of Reliance and Luther of Buena Vista.

A thirty five year old man, memory erased, was found near Gainsboro and committed to the county almshouse. He cannot name his home or companions, recalls only fleeting past details, possesses $1500 and a boxed razor, and asks for a magistrate to prevent self harm. He travels with a devoted dog and may be a missing Baltimore or Martinsburg man, though not fitting exactly.
