Intelligence of the death of Rev Dr David Hanaburgh president of Drew Seminary Carmel New York came today He delivered the dedicatory address at Cedar Creek battlefield six weeks ago when the 128th New York Regimental Association unveiled a monument He fell nine feet while carrying pictures to the seminary after not seeing an elevator shaft He served with General Sheridan in the Valley campaign and was captured at Cedar Creek October 19 1864 He was imprisoned in Richmond and Salisbury before released February 26 1865 The Poughkeepsie Enterprise praised him as an able minister and veteran advocate whose life gave him wide usefulness and an unusually broad circle of friends

Raid on Crap Game Near Winchester Nets Six Arrested
In a raid prompted by a resident complaint, police captured six men at a crap game near the stone bridge on the Baltimore and Ohio line outskirts of Winchester. Magistrate Wilson arraigned all six, fining each four dollars. Some paid, others posted security. one fugitive Negro known as Pegleg evaded capture. Police, led by Neville McCarty and J W Taylor, pursued into nearby timber as citizens aided the effort.
