Funeral Tribute for James B. Lovett in Winchester

Citizens of Winchester honor Prof. James B. Lovett principal of Shenandoah Valley Academy with a large, emotional funeral at the Presbyterian chapel on South Main street. Cadets headed the procession in fatigue uniforms as Rev. Dr. J Horace Lacy gave the eulogy and taps sounded at the grave.

Flag Raising at Ridge School Delights Community

A large United States flag was raised at Ridge Public School on the Pughtown road. Miss Anna Lewis led events with remarks by M. M. Lynch and a program by pupils including Miss Elison Brown, Miss Fran ces Gold ferried the rope, and Mr. Barton gave the closing address.
