Runaway crash claims life of WV official in Lexington
William Shafer 46, state secretary of the West Virginia Sunday School Association, died at St. Joseph Hospital Lexington after a Monday runaway. He was driving with Mrs. M Bowden and her two daughters, Nannie and Willa, who suffered injuries but were recovering. Shafer had just arrived from Huntington for the State Sunday School convention. Burial planned for Tena Alta, W Va. Shafer’s mother and sister attended him. Bowden family members at bedside. Mrs Bowden and Miss Willa improved. Nannie recovering.
